Description: Purpose: To create a public place of beauty that will honor the victims and heroes of 9-11, and reaffirm the principals of freedom and liberty on which our country has been built.
Reason site was selected: It is in a public park that is located centrally in the City of Conway, which is also the County Seat. It is highly visible from a major city street.
Events planned for site: Dedication Ceremony on Sept. 11, 2002. Celebration Picnic and Patriotic Music presentation by a Men’s Chorus on Memorial Day, 2003, with an attendance of 300. We are planning more events like the previously mentioned ones and are working toward staging live history lessons for students in the future. It is also open for individuals to use for picnics and events.
Do you believe your memorial is a sacred place?: It is respected by the citizens of the community who find relaxation and enjoyment there.
