Purpose:
To serve as a tribute to the victims of September 11th and also to the men and women of the Armed Services who are dedicating themselves to preserving our liberty.
Reason site was selected:
The site was the 2002 Arbor Day site for the city of Fremont, Nebraska. The park is named after General John C. Fremont.
Events planned for site:
The park is the site for the annual John C. Fremont Days Festival that draws 80,000+ people.
