Purpose:
To commemorate the events of 9-11, to memorialize its victims of which there were many clustered from this community as well as our surrounding communities. To connect our local tragedy to the nation\'s tragedy and respectfully remember the lives lost.
Reason site was selected:
The site was recently acquired and was a beautiful old farm adjacent to local residential developments and a wetland area. It will be visible from the street and part of a larger place where we hope many people will visit and feel comfortable.
Events planned for site:
There have been so many wonderful events held to date. Fund-raising for the memorial has been truly a community effort with walk-a-thons and collaborations with the local business community.
