Support VOICES of September 11th

_______________________________________________________________________

VOICES needs your support to further our work.

When VOICES was created in 2001, our mission was simple - to create an organization that would provide information and support services to all those impacted by 9/11 and to ensure our country was safer by preventing another terrorist attack. Thanks to the support and generosity of our donors over the past decade, Voices of September 11th is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to providing a wide range of support services that promote resiliency in the lives of families, responders and survivors.

The organization provides programs for over 16,000 members living in the United States and abroad. In 2006, VOICES launched the 9/11 Living Memorial Project to help families and survivors commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost and to document stories of survivors. Today, the Living Memorial is an extensive collection of over 70,000 photographs and personal keepsakes, that will be a core component of the exhibits at the 9/11 Museum in NYC.

Healing Families and Communities After Tragedy

Recent acts of mass violence and natural disasters have underscored the need for communities to be better prepared. In 2014, VOICES will launch a Resource Kit and a comprehensive program to assist communities in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from incidents of mass violence or natural disasters. The recommendations are based on lessons learned from the response to the attacks on September 11th, the Oklahoma City bombing and the shootings at Virginia Tech, Northern Illinois University and Tucson, Arizona.

Looking ahead, VOICES is committed to helping families and communities heal after tragedies. By sharing our lessons learned in working with victims' families and survivors for the past 12 years, we will help promote resiliency in the lives of families and communities impacted by other tragedies.
